And so I'm back.  Again.  *getting sick of redundance*

I am very, very, extremely sorry to everybody on my Watch...between computer problems (my own fault, really...probably wasn't wise to try to rip a few cast recordings after I'd filled half the harddrive with MP3s and the other half with yaoi...-_-;; ), new classes (tedious new classes), illness, and general stress, it hasn't been a particularly pleasant month.  But I think I've got most of the bugs worked out now.  I think.

Same thing still stands: if there's something you'd really like me to comment on, leave a message on the main page, or send a note.  And if you sent a note before, send one again, because the purge ate up all my notes before I looked at them ^^;;

Oh, and  to everybody who wished me a happy birthday a...month ago?  Hee.  And again, I'm really sorry about not commenting to anyone for so long...

Apologies to everybody on my Watch for not commenting much at all lately...college has fried my brain...and attempting to pull an all-nighter to write an analysis paper on a film version of Twelfth Night and then studying for a final can't have helped.  Eep.

But I'm free until January 5th now!  And I've got...many many many messages to catch up on...

Today in Psychology we learned about the ways in which people can develop multiple personalities.  *sigh*  I swear, most of the people I know have them.  Can't I know just one person who isn't going to whirl around and hurt me the minute it suits them?

Took the Jazz History final today.  Spent four hours last night typing up my notes, looking up extra information in the text book, and trying to memorize a hundred musicians, their instruments, and the era they played in.  I don't know why I was so shocked when the questions on the final had little or nothing to do with what we learned in class.  After all, the midterm was the same way.  At least this time I put down an answer for everything.  Hopefully I did well enough on it to make up for the midterm...I really don't want to retake that class...

I also rescheduled today (finally).  Of course, everything I was even remotely intersted in was taken.  But I might be able to get permission to join the Intro to Dramatic Arts class.  I need Theatre.  Everything else can die, but I need a Theatre class to stay sane.  Otherwise my schedule will be full of politically-correct essay reading/writing classes.  I loathe/hate/despise political correctness.   I did manage to sign up for a Russian Fairy Tale class.   It sounds sort of interesting...and next semester I'll be ready to schedule the first day, so I can get that Music of the Beatles class, and one of the Creative Writings, and a Mythology class, and maybe even that Anthropology of Death class...it goes quick.  Hm.  Beatles and Death.  Fun.

Sorry to everyone on my Watch...I'm way behind on commenting again ;_;  I'll get to you, I swear!  It just may take me a while...

Uneventful...

5 min read
My Thanksgiving break ends tomorrow, and I haven't accomplished much of anything.  I spent most of Tuesday sleeping after spending a good bit of Monday wandering around in a sleet storm (I hate the cold...it completely sucks out my energy), and I don't even remember what happened Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday were spent with family (meaning I was either being dragged around by one younger cousin or being attacked by another).  Today was spent working on homework (I was supposed to see a movie with Gautam, but couldn't go...now I feel bad about having to cancel), and tomorrow will be spent reading English essays and studying for Monday's Jazz History final.  *weeps*  I loathe that class...I seriously doubt that I'll be getting credit for it after the final.

Sidenote on finals:  I thought that all of my finals would take place during finals week, which would give us two-hour class periods to take the bastardly exams in.  I just checked my schedule, and the only class giving it's final during finals week is Psychology, the class with the shortest exam.  Not only that, the Psychology final is optional.  You just have to show up, complete the multiple choice exam for Unit 4 (never takes more than 25 minutes to finish one of those), and then, if our grade isn't what we want, we can attempt to improve it by taking the final.  If our grade is fine, we can leave.  So I have a two-hour period to take a 25-minute exam, and three 50-minute periods to take my three longest, most difficult exams.  Gah.

As for the cousins...you have no idea how pitiful it is to be called "uncool" by a ten-year-old for watching YuGiOh.  Oi.  "YuGiOh is soooooo out, Neopets are in right now!"  I pointed out to her that she had been more than thrilled with my tapes and DVDs when I visited her in August.  She insisted, "Noooo, I only put up with them, and I only watched like, one episode."  I replied that she had begged me to watch them, that she had insisted on watching ceratin episodes over, that she had complained loudly when I turned the tape off at midnight to send her to bed, and that we had watched between 20 and thirty episodes, maybe more.  That shut her up.

I may be able to scan something, soon.  Several somethings, in fact.  I've got a few things near completeion, and some totally completed...once the threat of blowing out another circuit is passed, I'll be able to actually submit something new.  My long-standing project-thingy is almost ready to be inked, anyway.

There was a pheasant in my backyard the other day.  I have no idea where it came from, since most of the animals in the surrounding woods are of the drab, ordinary type (i.e.-opossums, deer, chipmunks, squirrels, crows).  I know there are pheasants in the area, since my neighbor shot one once (and gave me the tail feathers...they're in a vase somewhere, now...) but I know there aren't any in the immediate area.  I guess it just flew over from somewhere else...but why would it want to?

It was hiding in a corner of the backyard, under Mom's azalea bush.  Just minding its own business, when my brother spotted it and decided to shoot it.  He ran in for his gun, while my mother sat there cooing over how beautiful it was.  Then my brother returned, decided that the bird was too pretty to shoot, and decided to feed it.  So they both ran back into the house to find some sunflower seeds (this was when I learned of the bird outside...I'd been revising another damned English essay, but I gave up on that for the moment and went with them).  Mom threw some seeds near the pheasant, but that only scared it, and it took off.  It flew right over me, really low, too.  They were right, it was a very pretty bird.

And that, sadly, was the high point of my week.

Yesterday was my last Freshamn Studies class, and Brenton (the TA) decided it would be fun to have the class meet at India Gardens.  It would have been nice if he'd told us where India Gardens was...it ended up being at least a mile from my other classes.  Of course, yesterday had to be the day the temperature dropped to twenty degrees and a sleet-storm kicked up.  Oi.  Wandering around Oakland in the sleet for a half hour, asking everybody I came across where the restaurant was...eventually somebody managed to tell me (I was twenty feet from the restaurant at the time).  Brenton spent most of the time apologizing to the class, first for the weather, then for the fact that nobody in the class liked Indian food, and third for the fact that the food didn't come until 4, when most people had to leave.  I did get a rose lassi, tho'.  I need to learn how to make those...they're demmed tasty.  *snerk* The rest of the class got mango lassis, and hated them.  They were...oddly bitter.  The rose was freakishly sweet, and it smelled nice.  Yay rose.

After that, I had to find Thackerey Hall and schedule my classes for next semester.  Wouldn't have been so bad in decent weather, but when it's uphill all the way from deep Oakland, so cold your hands go numb, and so wet and windy that you can't even keep the umbrella from turning inside out, it's a bit unpleasant.  Took me fifteen minutes to get to the appropriate building.  I was exhausted, wet, and completely numb.  I found my counselor's office, and was told that she had to leave before I scheduled o_O  She said she had sent me an email canceling the meeting, but my email didn't work.  "It's a hotmail account, right?"  No, it's an AOL account.  So I froze my ass off and accomplished nothing because she got my address wrong.  It wouldn't annoy me so much if I didn't know that she has gotten my address right before, that she confirmed the meeting through email, and that if she had just double-checked it, I could have saved an hour of my evening (searching for the building, looking for her office, then waiting for a ride home for break).  Gah.  People.

But now I have free time until Monday...tho' most of that will be spent babysitting cousins and studying for the Jazz History final I'm going to fail anyway.  >_<
